Description
Nuaf Kolanen is a hill of about 677 m a.s.l. (per GeoNames), with a prominence of roughly 89 m and a base width of about 0.65 km, in the hill country of West Timor, East Nusa Tenggara. The word "nuaf" means mountain in the Uab Meto (Dawan) language spoken by the Atoni people of Timor Island — a hallmark of local peaks, as in Nuaf Mutis. Public information on Nuaf Kolanen is very limited: no hiking reports, marked trails, or published visitor accounts have been found, and the available data come solely from international geographic catalogues. As a far better-documented reference point in the same region, Mount Mutis (2,427 m) — the highest peak in West Timor and an important nature reserve — lies to the east.
