Description

Nevado Tres Cruces is a volcanic massif on the Chile–Argentina border with a Wikidata elevation of 6,749 m. Sur and Central are separate objectives; Central reaches 6,629 m. Uwe Kraus documents hard snow and unstable rocks on Sur. A 2023 expedition account shows plans changing because of wind before a Central ascent from the southwest. Visiting the national park and its lagoons is distinct from climbing the summits. The routes here are historical documentation requiring fresh assessment of snow, weather and acclimatization.
