Description
Mount Shiomi (Shiomi-dake, 3,052 m) rises in the centre of the Akaishi Mountains — Japan's Southern Alps — right on the border of Nagano and Shizuoka Prefectures, within Minami Alps National Park. It is one of the "100 Famous Japanese Mountains" (Nihon Hyakumeizan) and is known for its deep-in-the-range position, which demands a long approach and an overnight stay. The summit has two rocky domes — Nishi-dake (west peak) and Higashi-dake (east peak, the high point) — with an exposed rocky ridge near the top. Being far from any road access, Shiomi is often climbed as part of a large Southern Alps traverse or as a 1–2 night trip from the Toridaira trailhead on the Nagano side. From the summit, hikers enjoy a wide panorama toward Kita-dake, Aino-dake and distant Mount Fuji.

Routes
Jalur Toridaira (鳥倉) via Pondok Sanpuku & Pondok Shiomi
Berat: jalur panjang menembus hutan lalu punggungan berbatu bereksposur di kubah puncakThe normal and most popular route from the Nagano side, starting at the Toridaira trailhead. From there the trail climbs through forest to Sanpuku Hut (Sanpuku-goya) and Shiomi Hut (Shiomi-goya) before the exposed rocky ridge to the summit domes (Nishi-dake and Higashi-dake, 3,052 m). Many hikers stay one night at a hut to break the long approach, though some do a single-day round trip of about 15 hours. Along the ridge there are views of Kita-dake, Aino-dake and Mount Fuji.

Berat: pendakian punggungan tinggi multi-hari melintasi beberapa puncak 3.000-anShiomi is often climbed not as a single objective but as a node in a long Southern Alps ridge traverse (daijūsō) linking it with peaks such as Kita-dake, Aino-dake, Warusawa-dake (Arakawa), Akaishi-dake and Hijiri-dake. This traverse requires multi-night hut/tent logistics, high stamina and Alpine weather management — but delivers one of Japan's most iconic ridge journeys.
SourceClimbing Experiences
Mount Shiomi footage is dominated by Japanese hikers' vlogs that stress the long approach and the need to stay overnight. The most common route starts from the Toridaira (鳥倉) trailhead on the Nagano side, through forest to Sanpuku Hut then Shiomi Hut (Shiomi-goya), before the rocky ridge to the summit. Many videos show Shiomi as part of a big Southern Alps traverse (for example with Kita-dake, Aino-dake, Warusawa, Akaishi and Hijiri), while others document a very long single-day round trip (~15 hours) or a one-night version. Recurring themes: Mount Fuji views from the ridge, the cold of an overnight at 3,000 m, and the exposed rocky summit domes.
