Description
Senjō (3,033 m) stands in Japan’s Akaishi Mountains on the Nagano–Yamanashi border. Glacial cirques shape its landscape. The Kitazawa route crosses Kosenjō before the main summit, passing through forest and open ridge terrain. Field accounts also document a descent through Senjō-goya and trips combining Kaikomagatake as a separate ascent from the Kitazawa base.

Routes
Kitazawa Pass → Kosenjō → puncak Senjō
Pendakian alpine; punggungan terbuka di atas batas hutanStarting at Kitazawa Pass at roughly 2,030 m, the route crosses Kosenjō before reaching Senjō. It leaves the forest near the sixth station and follows a ridge overlooking the Daisenjō cirque. The guide gives 4 hours 20 minutes up and 2 hours 50 minutes down; allow extra time for breaks. Private cars cannot use the approach road, so check bus access before departure.
SourceKitazawa → Kosenjō → Senjō → Uma-no-se → Chōei-goya
This descent variant passes Senjō-goya, Uma-no-se and the Ōtaki-no-atama junction before finishing at Chōei-goya. Distance, ascent and time describe one recorded outing rather than a universal benchmark.
SourceSenjō dan Kaikomagatake: dua pendakian dari Kitazawa
Dua pendakian alpine / Two alpine hikesThe summits are climbed separately from the Kitazawa and Chōei-goya area. The June 2022 account climbed Kaikomagatake first and Senjō the following day; this is not a direct summit-to-summit ridge route.
SourceClimbing Experiences
Videos and first-hand accounts cover the Kosenjō ridge, overnight trips around Kitazawa and a winter attempt turned back by snow. Combining the mountain with Kaikomagatake means two separate ascents from a shared base. Historical reports do not establish current access or snow conditions.
