Description
Mount Sanqing (三清山, Sānqīngshān; Yujing summit ~1,817 m) is a Taoist sacred mountain in Yushan County, Jiangxi province, eastern China. Its name means the 'Three Pure Ones' (Sānqīng) — the three highest Taoist deities — and derives from its three main summits, Yujing, Yushui, and Yuhua, said to resemble the three deities seated together. Inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2008, Sanqingshan is renowned for its forest of granite pillars and towers shaped by millions of years of erosion; the most famous are the 'Oriental Goddess' (东方女神) and the 'Giant Python Rising from the Mountain' (巨蟒出山), a needle-like pillar hundreds of metres tall resembling a rearing python. The area is explored via a network of plank walkways (zhàndào) built onto sheer cliff faces, alongside ancient Taoist temples and altars. Seas of cloud engulfing the stone pillars give its landscape the look of a Chinese ink painting.

Routes
Loop Besar (大环线) — Pesisir Matahari, Skywalk & Jalan Papan Pesisir Barat
Berat — jalur panjang; sulit dituntaskan dalam sehari bila ingin mengejar matahari terbit sekaligus terbenamThe longest circuit, aimed at those who want to catch both sunrise and sunset — which is why staying overnight on the mountain is recommended, as completing it in a single day is tough. From the Jinsha Cable Car the route takes in the Giant Python, Penguin Offering Peach, Jade Platform, Jade Maiden's Smile and the Narrow Sky Crack — a slim passage between two huge granite cliffs that leaves only a single beam of light from above — before reaching the Sunshine Coast, the Skywalk and the West Coast. The West Coast plank walk stretches nearly 4 km, clinging to the cliffside above a sea of cloud, and is the park's most thrilling and best-known stretch, especially at sunrise or after rain. The circuit then passes the Oriental Goddess, Rishang Lodge, Yuhuang Peak, Rhododendron Valley and the Yusong Forest to Fox Biting Chicken. As a general guide, even with the cable car visitors still walk about 3–5 hours on the trails; skipping the cable car adds roughly 2.5 hours of uphill hiking.
SourceLoop Kecil (小环线) — Ular Raksasa & Dewi Timur via Kereta Gantung Jinsha
Mudah — jalur pendek dan landai, cocok bagi pengunjung berstamina terbatasSanqingshan's shortest route and the main option for visitors who do not want a long climb. From the upper Jinsha Cable Car station, turn right toward the two most iconic granite formations: the 'Giant Python Coming Out of the Mountain' (巨蟒出山), a 128 m granite pillar, and the 'Oriental Goddess' (东方女神), an 86 m formation resembling a woman gazing into the distance, regarded by locals as the mountain's guardian goddess. The path continues past the Goddess Hotel and Goddess Skywalk before descending via the Jinsha Cable Car. Note the cable car runs only 08:00–17:00, so the descent must be timed.
SourceLoop Menengah (中环线) — sirkuit 'angka 8', rute paling populer
Sedang — sekitar satu jam menaiki tangga di awal, sisanya menurun dan datarThe most popular route for hikers of average fitness, covering nearly all the major attractions without being overly strenuous. It is shaped like a figure-8. From the Jinsha Cable Car (turning right), the path passes the Oriental Goddess, Giant Python, Penguin Offering Peach, Rhododendron Valley, Jade Maiden's Smile, Narrow Sky Crack, Fairy Drying Baby, Yuhuang Peak and Fox Biting Chicken, then loops back to Penguin Offering Peach before descending on the same cable car. The hardest part is front-loaded — about an hour of stair climbing — after which the terrain is mostly downhill and flat.
