Description
Parnassus (2,457 m) is an iconic limestone mountain in Central Greece, straddling the regions of Phocis and Boeotia north of the Gulf of Corinth. Its highest summit, Liakoura, takes its name from 'Lykoreia' — the howling of wolves. In Greek mythology Parnassus was sacred to Apollo and the Muses, and the ancient site of Delphi with its oracle sits on the mountain's southern slopes. Its landscape is one of intensely folded limestone, karst terrain, caves, and the dramatic Phaedriades cliffs. Today Parnassus is also home to Greece's largest ski resort, while the hike to Liakoura remains one of the country's most popular mountain ascents — usually starting from the Greek Alpine Club refuge (~1,900 m) near Arachova or from the ski centre.

Routes
Dari pusat ski Parnassos (Fterolaka/Kelaria) ke Liakoura
Menengah–berat (sebagian jalan 4x4, sebagian pintas menanjak bertanda titik oranye)Starting from the Fterolaka or Kelaria ski resort, the route follows a dirt road parallel to the Alokaitiko stream across the plateau, approaches Liakoura's western slope to a natural 'balcony', then climbs the ridge to the summit. Mostly an easy 4x4 road with some harder shortcuts marked by orange dots.
SourceJalur klasik dari refuge EOS Parnassos (Sarantari, ~1.900 m) — Arachova
Menengah (jalur gunung berbatu, non-teknis di musim bebas salju)The most popular Liakoura ascent, starting from the Greek Alpine Club refuge (EOS Parnassos) at about 1,900 m, ~25 km from Arachova. The trail climbs across the karst plateau and rocky ridges to the Liakoura summit (2,457 m). Best done May–November when snow-free.
SourceClimbing Experiences
The most popular ascent on Parnassus is to the Liakoura summit (2,457 m), usually starting from the Greek Alpine Club (EOS) refuge at about 1,900 m near Arachova, or from the Parnassos ski centre (Kelaria/Fterolaka). From the M. Deffner refuge (~1,800 m) hikers can link the high peaks in sequence — Gerontovrachos (2,390 m), Kotroni (2,431 m), then Liakoura — passing Profitis Ilias before descending to the Kelaria ski centre. Much of the route is dirt/4x4 road with steeper marked shortcuts flagged by orange dots. Climbers stress an early start, carrying enough water (springs are scarce up high), and vigilance toward mist and fast-changing weather on the karst plateau.
