Description
Monte Baldo is a mountain ridge range in the Italian Alps, running through the provinces of Trento and Verona for about 40 km parallel to the eastern shore of Lake Garda. Its crest is oriented north-east to south-west, bounded by Lake Garda to the west and the Val d'Adige to the east. The name "Baldo" derives from the German Wald ("forest") and first appears on a German map in 1163. Its highest summit is Cima Valdritta (2,218 m), while other prominent tops include Monte Altissimo di Nago (2,079 m), Cima del Longino (2,180 m), Cima delle Pozzette (2,132 m) and Punta Telegrafo (2,200 m). Thanks to a huge elevation range from 65 m at the lakeshore to over 2,200 m, Monte Baldo is famed for its rich flora and nicknamed the "Hortus Europae" (Garden of Europe). The Peace Trail (Sentiero della Pace), one of the most important long-distance routes in Northern Italy, crosses its ridge, and it is easily reached by cable car from the town of Malcesine on Lake Garda — making it a very popular hiking and tourism destination.

Menengah (jalur hiking dengan bagian punggungan tereksposur/ber-kabel)The most popular route to the highest summit. The Malcesine–Monte Baldo cable car lifts visitors from Lake Garda to the upper station (~1,760 m), from where a ridge trail leads to Cima Valdritta (2,218 m) via a path with exposed sections and a short cabled (attrezzato) stretch. It offers Lake Garda panoramas throughout.
