Description
Mardi Himal is a 5,587-metre peak standing beneath the far more prominent Machapuchare in the Annapurna region of Nepal, from which it is separated by a roughly 5,200-metre col. The summit was first climbed in 1961 by Basil Goodfellow. What has made the name famous among travellers, however, is the Mardi Himal Trek — a teahouse trail formally opened in 2012 that has become one of Nepal's most popular short treks. It starts from Kande near Pokhara and climbs gradually through Forest Camp, Low Camp, and High Camp to the Upper Viewpoint and Mardi Himal Base Camp (~4,500 m), offering close-up panoramas of Machapuchare (Fishtail) and the Annapurna range above the treeline. The route is moderate and non-technical but relentlessly uphill, making it well suited to fit beginners who allow for acclimatisation.

Routes
Jalur keluar via Sidhing (turun berbeda dari jalur naik)
Moderat; penurunan panjang dan curam, licin saat basahInstead of retracing the ascent to Kande, many trekkers exit via Sidhing to make a one-way loop. From High Camp (~3,580 m) the trail drops past Badal Danda (Cloud Hill) — a viewpoint — then through rhododendron forest and terraced fields to the traditional village of Sidhing (~1,850 m), a descent of about 1,730 m. After a teahouse/homestay night in Sidhing, it is a short walk to the road for a drive back to Pokhara. The route offers a different side: quiet rural Himalayan life and a gentle transition from altitude, while avoiding backtracking. The long, often slippery descent makes trekking poles strongly advisable.

Climbing Experiences
The Mardi Himal Trek is one of the shortest and most popular teahouse treks in the Annapurna region — climbing from rhododendron forest near Pokhara to High Camp and the Upper Viewpoint/Base Camp (~4,500 m) at the foot of Machapuchare. The videos and trip reports below document the real daily stages: Forest/Low/High Camp, the decisive push to the viewpoint, and independent guide-free trekking with GPS tracks.
