Description
Lovćen (highest peak Štirovnik, 1,749 m) is a Dinaric karst mountain rising between the Bay of Kotor and the old royal capital of Cetinje in south-western Montenegro. It carries deep symbolism: the black silhouette of its dense forests gave rise to the name 'Crna Gora' / Montenegro, meaning 'Black Mountain'. The whole area is now Lovćen National Park. Its main draw is the Njegoš Mausoleum atop Jezerski vrh (1,657 m) — the grand tomb of the poet-prince-bishop Petar II Petrović-Njegoš, reached by a paved road and then a 461-step stone staircase, offering a 360° panorama out to the Albanian Alps, Lake Skadar and the Adriatic coast. Visitors can drive up the dramatic serpentine road from Kotor, ride the Kotor–Lovćen cable car, or take a demanding ~13 km hike from Kotor that climbs from sea level to ~1,700 m past the Fortress of St. John.

Routes
Jalan + tangga ke Mausoleum Njegoš (Jezerski vrh)
Mudah; jalan beraspal hingga dekat puncak lalu tangga batu 461 anak tanggaThe most common route to Lovćen's iconic point. From Kotor (serpentine road), Cetinje, or the Kotor–Lovćen cable car, visitors reach a car park near Jezerski vrh, then climb 461 stone steps through a tunnel to the Njegoš Mausoleum (1,657 m) with its 360° panorama. No technical skill is needed, but the stairway is steep and the summit is exposed to wind.
SourceJalur kaki Kotor → Benteng St. John → Lovćen
Sedang–berat; naik dari permukaan laut ke ±1.700 m, panas & minim naunganA hiking route for the fit: from Kotor it climbs past the Fortress of St. John then a mountain trail toward the Lovćen area, ascending from 0 to ~1,700 m over about 13 km. Challenging for its large height gain, summer heat and little shade; the reward is the ever-opening view over the Bay of Kotor below.
