Description
Lomnický štít (2,634 m) is the second-highest peak of the High Tatras (Vysoké Tatry) in Slovakia and one of the country's best-known symbols. Rising above Tatranská Lomnica and the glacial lake Skalnaté pleso, its sharp granite pyramid is both a tourist destination and a climbing objective. Since 1940 a cable car has carried visitors from Tatranská Lomnica up to Skalnaté pleso and on to the summit station — making Lomnický štít one of the most easily reached high peaks in Central Europe; an astronomical and meteorological observatory stands on top. For those who want to reach it on foot, Tatra National Park law requires a licensed mountain guide (horský vodca): the route from Skalnaté pleso crosses exposed rocky terrain with chained sections, demanding fitness and a cool head for heights. The summit panorama spans the whole main Tatra ridge out to the Slovak and Polish lowlands. Although it looks 'tourist-friendly' thanks to the cable car, the weather at 2,634 m can change drastically and the on-foot ascent remains a serious undertaking.

Routes
Kereta gantung: Tatranská Lomnica → Skalnaté pleso → puncak
Mudah — akses wisata via lanovka, tanpa keahlian teknisThe most common way to reach the top. A large cable car takes visitors from Tatranská Lomnica to the lake Skalnaté pleso, then a small cabin rises to the Lomnický štít summit station (2,634 m). Because capacity is limited and time at the top is managed, tickets often need booking ahead, especially in peak season. From the summit terrace the panorama spans the whole main High Tatra ridge out to the Slovak and Polish lowlands; an astronomical-meteorological observatory also stands here. Although no climbing is involved, the altitude and fast-changing weather demand warm clothing; service can be suspended in high winds or storms.

Pendakian kaki berpemandu dari Skalnaté pleso (jalur ber-rantai)
Menuntut — medan berbatu ekspos dengan bagian ber-rantai/via-ferrata; hanya dengan horský vodcaFor those wanting to reach the summit on foot, Tatra National Park law requires a licensed mountain guide (horský vodca) — an unguided ascent is forbidden. From Skalnaté pleso the route crosses steep, exposed granite terrain, with chained and iron-runged sections to pass the hardest rock steps. It demands fitness, a cool head for exposure, and scrambling experience. It is usually done July–October when the terrain is ice-free; the reward is climbing one of Slovakia's most iconic peaks and descending (or ascending) by cable car. Rapidly worsening weather and loose rock are the main hazards.

Climbing Experiences
Lomnický štít can be reached in two very different ways: by cable car from Tatranská Lomnica to the summit station, or on foot with a licensed mountain guide along the exposed rocky route from Skalnaté pleso. The clips below cover both — from a no-cable-car ascent and the Birkenmajer Edge climb to tourists riding the lanovka and a guided winter climb.
