Description
Kyajo Ri (~6,186 m) is a rock-and-ice peak in Nepal's Khumbu region, on the west side of the Dudh Koshi valley near the villages of Machermo and Namche Bazaar within Sagarmatha National Park. Though dwarfed by the nearby eight-thousanders, Kyajo Ri is regarded as one of the more technical 'climbing peaks' opened by the Nepal Mountaineering Association in the Everest area — an ascent demanding mixed rock, snow and ice skills rather than a simple trek, which makes it a popular serious training objective before bigger mountains. Its summit offers panoramas of Cho Oyu, Everest and the Khumbu skyline. The best climbing windows are spring and autumn.

Routes
Pendekatan via Gokyo (Gokyo Ri & Renjo La) menuju base camp
Peak climbing teknis (medan campuran batu-salju-es di bagian puncak); pendekatan trekking tinggi menyeberang pass ±5.300 mAn approach variation that loops through the Gokyo valley before heading to Kyajo Ri, adding acclimatisation and scenery. From Namche the trek climbs to the Gokyo lakes, with the option of Gokyo Ri (~5,357 m), then crosses the Renjo La (~5,340 m) into the Thame/Kyajo Drangka side to set base camp. After solid acclimatisation, the summit push still tackles the technical mixed rock-snow-ice of upper Kyajo Ri. This approach is longer but gives better altitude preparation and views of Everest–Lhotse–Makalu from Gokyo Ri.

Peak climbing teknis (batu/salju/es campuran, umumnya PD+/AD dengan pitch bertali di dekat puncak)Jalur ekspedisi lazim: terbang ke Lukla, trek lewat Namche Bazaar menuju lembah Kyajo Drangka, lalu mendirikan base camp dan high camp sebelum dorongan puncak. Bagian atas menuntut pendakian batu-salju-es bersudut dengan pengamanan tali, menjadikannya salah satu peak climbing paling teknis di kawasan Everest.
SourceClimbing Experiences
Kyajo Ri climbs are documented as technical peak-climbing expeditions in the Everest region: an approach via Namche Bazaar and base camp, then a summit push on mixed rock-snow-ice terrain. The videos below show preparation, camp life and the summit push at ~6,186 m from several different teams and operators.
