Description

Kōnāhuanui (960 m / 3,150 ft) — often shortened to 'K2' — is the highest point of the Koʻolau Range and the second-highest peak on the island of Oʻahu, Hawaii. It comprises two twin summits (Kōnāhuanui 1 and 2) atop the sharp ridge dividing Honolulu from the island's windward side. The climb follows a narrow, slippery, often cloud-wrapped rainforest ridge from the Tantalus/Nuʻuanu side, with panoramas of the Pali cliffs and Oʻahu's eastern coastline from the top.

Routes

Jalur punggung Tantalus/Nuʻuanu ke puncak K2

Sulit
±6–8 jam pulang-pergi

The main route follows the Koʻolau ridge from the Tantalus/Nuʻuanu area above Honolulu to Kōnāhuanui's twin summits. It is long, steep, rooty, and almost always muddy, with narrow ridge sections that drop away on both sides. Very slippery and prone to cloud cover — good-grip footwear, an early start, and caution are essential.

Traverse dari Mount Olympus (Awaawaloa)

Sangat sulit
Sehari penuh (varian lanjutan)

A more demanding variant links from Mount Olympus (Awaawaloa) along the Koʻolau summit ridge to Kōnāhuanui. It crosses exposed, densely vegetated ridge sections and is for experienced hikers accustomed to the slippery, exposed Koʻolau ridgeline.
