Description
Kata Tjuta is a group of 36 conglomerate domes in Australia’s Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park and a sacred place for Anangu. Mount Olga is its highest dome. This profile retains the 1,066 m elevation reported by Wikipedia, with group coordinates rounded from Wikidata; Wikidata Q279980 records 1,069 m whereas Wikipedia gives 1,066 m; this elevation discrepancy is explicitly retained. Walking visits follow designated tracks among the domes. Walpa Gorge is a 2.6 km return walk, while Valley of the Winds is a 7.4 km circuit with Grade 4 terrain. Follow the park’s heat restrictions and cultural guidance, including its request not to record the rock formations along Valley of the Winds.

Routes
Valley of the Winds Walk (sirkuit)
Grade 4A circuit via Karu and Karingana with loose rock and steep sections. Beyond Karu closes from 11 am when forecast or actual temperature reaches 36°C. The park asks visitors not to photograph or film rock formations along the walk.
SourceWalpa Gorge Walk
Grade 3A rocky return walk towards a seasonal stream and spearwood grove. Stay on the path and avoid climbing boulders or entering gullies. When photographing the gorge, keep both sides in frame as requested by Anangu.
SourceClimbing Experiences
Visitor accounts contrast the shorter Walpa Gorge walk with the rocky climbs of the Valley of the Winds circuit. Two written reports show practical limits: heat curtailed a family visit, while rain led another group to turn back beyond Karu. Videos are linked as creator documentation; oEmbed metadata alone cannot verify detailed conditions. Consult current official information and cultural guidance when planning a visit.
