Description

Kanamo Peak (~5,998 m) is a high-altitude trekking summit in the Spiti Valley of Himachal Pradesh, India, approached from Kibber — one of the highest motorable inhabited villages. Its appeal is that the peak tops nearly 6,000 m yet is essentially non-technical, making it one of the region's popular 'summit treks' for hikers who want to experience serious altitude without pure rock or ice climbing — provided acclimatization is managed carefully. The summit yields sweeping views over Spiti's high-desert landscape and the surrounding Himalayan peaks. The best season is summer, June to September.

Routes

Jalur normal via Kibber → Kanamo Base Camp → puncak

Trek puncak non-teknis; medan scree & salju, tantangan utama ketinggian ±6.000 m

±5–7 hari dari Kibber (termasuk hari aklimatisasi)

Rute standar berangkat dari desa Kibber (±4.270 m), menyeberang padang tinggi menuju Kanamo Base Camp, lalu dorongan puncak panjang di lereng scree dan salju hingga ±5.998 m. Tidak menuntut panjat teknis, tetapi aklimatisasi bertahap wajib karena puncak menembus hampir 6.000 m. Musim terbaik Juni–September.
