Description
Kabru is a Himalayan massif on the Nepal–Sikkim border, south of Kangchenjunga. Wikidata records 7,412 m for its highest point; Kabru North, Kabru South and Kabru Dome are distinct summits within the group. Accounts of the 1935 ascent of Kabru North therefore should not be read as an ascent of the highest summit. A. Abbey’s expedition report documents climbs of several summits in May 1994. Goechala trekking and Dzongri Top offer views of the Kabru group without climbing its summits. AAJ reports distinguish the 2023 west-face ascent of Kabru South from the 2025 Himalayan Trad ascent of the main summit.

Routes
Goechala via Yuksom dan Dzongri (trek pandang / viewing trek)
Sulit, untuk trekker berpengalaman / Difficult, for experienced trekkersIndiahikes’ itinerary runs from Yuksom through Sachen, Tshoka and Dzongri, including Dzongri Top for Kabru views. It continues through Thansing and Samiti Lake to View Point 1 before returning. This is a viewing trek rather than a Kabru ascent; the viewpoint day is long and at high altitude.

D, 50°–60°From the Yalung Glacier, this line reaches the 7,412 m main summit across complex glacier terrain and a corniced north ridge. The 2025 account highlights seracs, avalanches and poor snow; it is not current conditions advice.
SourceKabru icefall → sadel North–South (historis 1994 / historical 1994)
Ekspedisi teknis / Technical expeditionFrom Chaurikhang, the 1994 expedition passed Omine Chu and the Kabru glacier to the icefall, then climbed an ice wall to the North–South saddle. This is historical context; reported icefall changes and avalanches preclude assuming that the route remains usable.
SourceClimbing Experiences
Six firsthand reports distinguish Kabru North, Kabru Dome, Kabru South and the main summit. They cover successful climbs and abandoned attempts, emphasizing route finding, glacier changes and retreat decisions. Each describes a particular expedition year rather than confirming present route conditions.
