Description
Jebel Jais (1,934 m) is the highest peak in the United Arab Emirates, rising in the Hajar Mountains of Ras Al Khaimah near the Omani border. Notably, the mountain's absolute summit lies on the Omani side, so the highest point the public can reach within the UAE sits on the western flank at around 1,640 m — often dubbed the 'roof of the UAE'. The area has been developed into a flagship mountain-tourism destination, with a winding sealed road, viewing decks, high-altitude dining and the world's longest zip-line. For hikers, Ras Al Khaimah has built a network of six official trails totalling roughly 16 km across several zones — from beginner-friendly lower routes (Al-Teen, Farfar, Sidir, Al Asbaq) to the challenging Ghaf Summit Trail leading to the highest public point. The best season is October–April when temperatures are cooler; outside that window desert heat and steep limestone terrain demand careful water planning and navigation.

Routes
Ghaf Summit Trail — menuju titik publik tertinggi UEA (~1.640 m)
Menantang (jalur atas Jebel Jais): tanjakan panjang di medan batu gamping terjal, terbuka dan panas; butuh navigasi dan persediaan airThe Ghaf Summit Trail is the most challenging route in Jebel Jais's official hiking network, taking walkers to the highest point the public can reach in the United Arab Emirates at around 1,640 m — often called the 'roof of the UAE'. The trail climbs through open limestone terrain with little shade, demanding good fitness, grippy footwear and ample water. The best season is October–April when temperatures are cooler. The mountain's absolute summit (1,934 m) lies on the Omani side and is not the objective of this trail. The official operator (RAK Leisure / visitjebeljais.com) provides full trail maps with difficulty, elevation gain, duration and emergency information.

Mudah–menengah: jalur zona bawah yang lebih landai, cocok untuk pemula dan keluargaJebel Jais's lower zone holds several short, beginner-friendly trails — Al-Teen, Farfar, Sidir and Al Asbaq — part of the network of six official routes totalling roughly 16 km. They offer a more relaxed mountain experience with Hajar Mountain views, suited to families or as a warm-up before attempting the tougher Ghaf Summit Trail. As with the other routes, hiking in the cool season (October–April) with plenty of water is advised given the limited shade.
