Description
Jbel Bou Naceur (Adrar Bou Nacer, ~3,340–3,356 m; the official SIBE figure is 3,340 m while hiking sources and Wikidata cite 3,356 m) is the highest peak of the eastern Middle Atlas (Moyen Atlas oriental) in Morocco, in Sefrou/Boulemane Province of the Fès-Meknès region. Unlike volcanic summits, it is an orogenic Jurassic-limestone massif. Its top is covered by névé (snowfields) for roughly three-quarters of the year, so the comfortable climbing window is late spring to early summer. Being remote, lightly marked and without facilities, an ascent demands logistical self-sufficiency, solid navigation and ideally a local guide. The area is a designated SIBE (site of biological and ecological interest) with cedar forest and hundreds of plant species.

Routes
Ascension via Atchana / Ouled Ali (Beni Maqbal)
Non-teknis tetapi berat (kesulitan 4/5)The summit route from the Atchana valley near the village of Ouled Ali/Beni Maqbal (~1,800 m). About 17 km round trip with ~1,589 m of climbing to the summit (~3,356 m) and a return by the same path; roughly 8–9 hours of walking. Non-technical but long and tiring, and often crossing snowfields.
SourceTraversée Atlas Tengah timur: Taza → Bou Naceur (5 hari)
Trek lintas-alam multi-hariA long five-day traverse from Taza crossing Tazekka National Park, then the Bou Iblane and Bou Naceur massifs, ending in the terraced valley of Oulad Youssef Ali. It passes through cedar forest, cork-oak woodland and high plateaus, descending the rim of the Bou Naceur massif (~3,356 m).
SourceClimbing Experiences
Jbel Bou Naceur is the highest peak of the eastern Middle Atlas and is climbed far less often than the High Atlas summits; ascents are usually made from the Atchana/Ouled Ali valley as a long single-day outing. Below are real, verified French-language sources.
