Description
Hukiru Solo is a hill in the northern part of Sulawesi island, Indonesia (in the Gorontalo–North Sulawesi border area), at roughly 0.92°N 123.22°E — about 2,000 km east of Jakarta. "Hukiru" comes from the Gorontalo language, meaning hill or mountain. According to digital-elevation-model (DEM) data compiled by GeoNames, its summit is about 545 m above sea level, but only about 5 m above the surrounding terrain, giving it little local prominence; its base is only about 0.09 km wide. The surrounding land is hilly to the southwest and flat to the northeast, with the sea as the nearest feature to the northwest. The nearest higher point is the Kabila Range (Pegunungan Kabila, about 1,771 m), some 20 km to the south. Population density is around 34 people per km² and the surroundings are almost entirely forest-covered. The climate is tropical, averaging about 23 °C with roughly 2,484 mm of rain a year; the wettest month is typically November. Detailed information on trails or local history remains scarce; this profile is compiled from open geographic databases and does not yet include climbing records.
