Description
Huidu Bulangita is a hill in Gorontalo province, in the northern part of Sulawesi island, Indonesia, at roughly 0.78°N 122.83°E — about 1,900 km east of Jakarta. Its name comes from the Gorontalo language, in which "huidu" means mountain or hill. Note that two hills in Gorontalo share this name; this entry refers to the eastern one (0.7771°N 122.8331°E), distinct from "Huidu Bulangita (hill)" at 0.8387°N 122.5354°E. According to digital-elevation-model (DEM) data compiled by GeoNames, its summit is about 136 m above sea level with a topographic prominence of roughly 52 m above the surrounding terrain; its base is about 0.56 km wide. The surrounding land is hilly to the southwest but flat to the northeast, with a bay to the north and the sea as the nearest feature. The nearest higher point reaches about 538 m, some 5.7 km to the west. Population density is around 134 people per km² and the surroundings are mostly farmland.
