Description
Huayna Picchu (Quechua: Wayna Pikchu, 'young peak') is a sharp granite peak of 2,693 m rising above the Machu Picchu site in the Cusco region, around which the Urubamba River bends. About 260 m higher than the citadel, it is less an altitude climb than a stairway—the Inca carved a trail, terraces and temples into its flanks, including the Temple of the Moon set in a cave on its lower side. According to local guides the summit once housed the high priest. Today Huayna Picchu is famous for its narrow, steep Inca stone steps—nicknamed the 'Stairs of Death'—which give a dramatic aerial view down onto the ruins of Machu Picchu. Because of the exposure, access is limited by a strict daily quota and requires a separate ticket booked well in advance.

Routes
Lingkar Templo de la Luna / Gran Caverna (perpanjangan turun sisi belakang)
Berat — jalur panjang, curam, dan terpencil di sisi bawah gunungAn extension for those with time and energy: from the summit trail, descend the back of the mountain to the Temple of the Moon (Templo de la Luna), nestled in a rock cave on Huayna Picchu's lower flank, then loop back. The route is longer, steeper and quieter than the main stairway, adding significantly to the total time. It requires the appropriate ticket and entry session, plus extra stamina.

Berat (paparan) — tangga batu Inca sempit, curam, sering licinThe main route starts at a control point inside the Machu Picchu site after showing a quota-limited combined ticket. It climbs narrow, very steep Inca stone steps—nicknamed the 'Stairs of Death'—with some cable-assisted sections, to the 2,693 m summit that looks straight down onto the ruins. The climb is fairly short but demanding because of the exposure and slippery rock when damp; entry is split into timed sessions under a strict daily quota.

Huayna Picchu (2,693 m) is climbed directly from inside the Machu Picchu site on a limited-quota ticket. The trail is short but very steep, up narrow Inca stone steps—nicknamed the 'Stairs of Death'—to a summit overlooking the ruins from above. The sources below show the character of the steps, the exposure, and the aerial view over Machu Picchu, plus an official ticketing guide.
