Description
The Hoher Dachstein (2,995 m) is the highest peak of the Dachstein massif and the highest point of two Austrian states at once — Upper Austria (Oberösterreich) and Styria (Steiermark). Set in the Northern Limestone Alps and cloaked by the Hallstätter Glacier, the mountain combines glacier travel with via ferrata. The normal route usually starts from the top station of the Dachstein cable car (Hunerkogel): crossing the Hallstätter Glacier to the base of the cliffs, then climbing the exposed Randkluftsteig via ferrata or the Schulteranstieg to the summit, often passing the Seethalerhütte (2,740 m). The ascent demands crampons, an ice axe, a rope, and a via ferrata set because of the mix of ice and steep limestone. One of Austria's best-known mountains, the Dachstein is also popular for skiing and offers a wide panorama over the Salzkammergut and surrounding Alpine peaks.

Routes
Jalur normal — gletser Hallstätter + via ferrata Randkluftsteig (dari Hunerkogel)
Berat: penyeberangan gletser + via ferrata terekspos — butuh crampon, kapak es, tali, set via ferrataThe normal and busiest route. From the top station of the Dachstein cable car (Hunerkogel, ~2,700 m), cross the Hallstätter Glacier to the base of the cliffs, then climb the exposed Randkluftsteig via ferrata to the 2,995 m summit, often passing the Seethalerhütte (2,740 m). Hard morning ice and glacier crevasses call for caution.
Route Segments

Schulteranstieg (variasi jalur puncak)
Berat & terekspos — via ferrata pada punggungan 'Schulter'A summit-section variation via the mountain's 'Schulter' (shoulder), usually combined with the same Hallstätter Glacier crossing. It is also secured as a via ferrata with high exposure and requires a via ferrata set, crampons, and ice-condition judgement.
