Description
Gunung Torenang is a low hill on Madura Island, within Pamekasan Regency, East Java, about 8.7 km northwest of Pamekasan town (near Rek Kerrek village, Palengaan district). Its elevation is only about 121 m according to the GeoNames gazetteer, with a topographic prominence of roughly 43 m above the surrounding terrain and a base spread of about 1.3 km — making it better described as a hill than a mountain. The surroundings are dominated by farmland and fairly dense settlement (estimated around 1,100 people/km²), typical of Madura's limestone plains, with a tropical monsoon climate (average temperature around 27 °C, annual rainfall about 2,350 mm). Documentation is very sparse: it is recorded as a named peak in OpenStreetMap and the GeoNames gazetteer, but there is no record of a climbing trail, trip reports, or verifiable freely-licensed photos. Available data is limited to its existence, location, and approximate elevation.
