Description
Mount Slamet (3,428 m) in Central Java is an active conical volcano and the second-highest peak on Java after Semeru, nicknamed the 'roof of Central Java'. Its most popular route is via Bambangan (Purbalingga), with nine posts leading to Pos Pelawangan and a sandy summit. The mountain is also wrapped in mystical lore among hikers.
