Description
Gunung Patas is one of the peaks at the far western end of Bali, in Gerokgak District, Buleleng Regency, within the West Bali National Park area. Most Balinese mountain listings record its height as about 1,414 m (some other sources give a lower figure of roughly 1,224 m), and several local sources call it one of the highest points in West Bali National Park — though other lists award that title to Gunung Prapat Agung, so its 'highest' status varies between sources. It is climbed via informal trails opened by residents around Gerokgak and Sepang; one route can be reached through the Gerokgak Dam recreation area, over fairly long, undulating hill terrain. As a rarely climbed peak, documentation of formal routes and its data remains limited.
