Description

Gunung Patah Sembilan is a peak of roughly 1,817 metres above sea level in the Barisan Mountains, within Kerinci Seblat National Park, Jambi Province, Sumatra. According to the PeakVisor topographic database it has a topographic prominence of about 584 metres, marking it as a fairly independent summit though not the highest in its area. It lies deep within the montane rainforest of Kerinci Seblat — Sumatra's largest national park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site (Tropical Rainforest Heritage of Sumatra) and a key Sumatran tiger habitat. Note that this peak is DISTINCT from the better-known and much higher 'Gunung Patah' on the Bengkulu–South Sumatra border. Detailed route and climbing information is very limited; it is not a popular hiking destination and is documented mainly through mapping databases and geographic coordinates rather than expedition reports. The information here is honestly compiled from the available geographic sources.
