Description

Gunung Lemiring (also called Bukit Lemiring) is one of the tops along the Watukelir hill ridge — often referred to as the Bonang–Sampang ridge — on the boundary between Sempor and Rowokele districts in Kebumen Regency, Central Java, right at the border with Banjarnegara Regency. Its elevation is about 571 m according to the PeakVisor topographic database (GeoNames records 566 m), but its prominence is only around 11 m, so Lemiring is not a standalone summit but one bump on a roughly 10.18 km ridge that also carries Watukelir, Bonang, Wanalela, Blumbungan, Wadasputih, Lamuk, Temeteskambang, Lemungsur and Igir Lemahrata. Its nearest higher neighbour, Gunung Wadasputih (654–662 m), lies only about 800 m to the south-southeast and is the ridge's high point, while its parent peak is Gunung Jampang (about 811 m) some 4.8 km west-southwest. The setting is forested hill country with a tropical monsoon climate, an average temperature near 23 °C and almost 3,900 mm of annual rainfall; the nearest town is Gombong, about 12 km to the southeast. The ridge's eastern flank facing Sampang village is steep and known to be landslide-prone, while its southern and western sides are gentler. Data caveat: Lemiring has no dedicated encyclopedia article and is not a known hiking destination; the naming of the ridge's tops comes from an amateur local topographic compilation (the Androzmeda blog) that agrees with PeakVisor on Wadasputih, so details beyond that should be treated as indicative.
