Description
Gunung Karacak stands between Cikuray and Galunggung on the Garut–Tasikmalaya border in West Java. Its ridges divide drainage into the Cimanuk and Ciwulan river basins. Indonesia’s Geological Agency describes Karacak as an old volcanic mountain with deeply weathered andesite. The approximately 1,839 m elevation follows Taman Bumi Mooi Garoet; Wikipedia lists 1,838 m, while Wikidata currently has no elevation value. The Sukanegla approach passes through Karacak Valley before entering mountain forest.

SourceClimbing Experiences
These sources cover both climbing Karacak and visiting Karacak Valley at its foot. Daniel Quinn describes the Sukanegla and Cilawu approaches; the campsite video does not document a summit ascent. Conditions in older reports should be checked again with the basecamp.
