Description
Gunung Garit is a low hill — about 137 metres according to the GeoNames geographic database — in the lowlands of East Java, Indonesia, roughly 13 km north of the town of Kertosono, in the largely agricultural Jombang–Nganjuk border area. Despite the "gunung" (mountain) prefix in its name, its height and form are more those of a rise poking up amid rice fields; Wikidata classifies it as both a hill and a mountain (Q25256384). Its existence, name and coordinates (7°28′44″S, 112°02′51″E) are recorded consistently in OpenStreetMap, Wikidata and GeoNames, and it has a bot-generated stub on Cebuano Wikipedia — all of which trace back to a single NGA-GNS gazetteer record and are therefore not independent descriptive sources. No verifiable hiking route, tourism, history or cultural significance was found, and climbing databases such as gunungbagging and peakbagger do not list it. This summary is therefore basic and geographic in nature, and will be updated if a reliable local source emerges. (Note: the name "Garit" is easily confused with Garut in West Java — this feature is in East Java.)
