Description
Gunung Gadis is a non-volcanic peak of 1,917 metres within Kerinci Seblat National Park (TNKS), Kerinci Regency, Jambi Province, Sumatra. TNKS is the largest protected area in Southeast Asia at 1.4 million hectares, sheltering hundreds of peaks ranging from Gunung Kerinci (3,805 m) — Indonesia's highest summit outside Papua — down to lesser-known peaks such as Gunung Gadis. Dedicated trail documentation, entry points, and facilities for Gunung Gadis are not widely recorded in public sources, as hiking attention focuses heavily on Kerinci and the park's main summits. The park is also critical habitat for the Sumatran tiger and Sumatran elephant, making licensed TNKS guides essential for any ascent within the park.
