Description

Gunung Bujang is a non-volcanic peak rising to approximately 1,461 metres within Kerinci Seblat National Park (TNKS), Jambi Province, Sumatra, Indonesia, at around 1°56'S, 101°29'E. TNKS is Sumatra's largest national park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its extraordinary biodiversity. Gunung Bujang remains a relatively unexplored peak with limited publicly available trail information. Geologically, research has identified potential metallic mineral (gold) deposits in the Gunung Bujang area based on Induced Polarization (IP) surveys, indicating ancient hydrothermal activity beneath the surface. Climbers interested in this peak are advised to contact the TNKS authority or local mountaineering communities in Jambi for the latest permit and trail conditions.
