Description

Gunung Berkeng is a non-volcanic peak at 1,104 m a.s.l. in the Pinding Range, Permata sub-district, Bener Meriah Regency, Aceh. It sits within the Gayo Highlands — the interior plateau of Aceh renowned for arabica coffee cultivation and rolling green scenery. With roughly 311 m of prominence and a base width of about 3.4 km, Berkeng is a relatively isolated local summit among the Pinding hills. Published hiking documentation is very limited; no widely circulated trail reports or marked routes have been found.
