Description

Gunung Batu Jonggol is a rocky hill of about 875 metres in Sukaharja village, Sukamakmur, Bogor Regency. The Jonggol name remains common even though the hill is in Sukamakmur district. Trip reports describe an earthen trail to a camping area followed by narrow rocky slopes leading to an elongated summit. Climbers report scrambling and using handlines on the upper section; the modest elevation does not make the trail easy. One account describes stopping at the camping area as fog thickened before rain and lightning arrived. Times and charges in older reports reflect individual visits, rather than guaranteed present conditions or prices.

From the Pos 2 parking area, an earthen trail climbs to the camping area. Beyond it the route becomes rockier and narrower, with handlines described in the 2016 account. The summit is an elongated ridge, and narrow passages require hikers to take turns. This historical description does not establish the present condition of ropes or access.
