Description
Gunung Batu Jonggol (about 875 m) is a rocky hill in Sukaharja village, Sukamakmur district, Bogor Regency, West Java — part of the former Jonggol sub-district hill country on the Bogor–Cianjur border, and distinct from the well-known 'Gunung Batu' climbing crag at Lembang. Though modest in height, it is a popular spot for easy hikes and camping to watch sunrise and sunset. The trail to its elongated summit crosses a mix of a river, rice fields and forested slopes, with a final section of steep rock outcrops that sometimes require a rope. The climb typically takes around 1.5 hours from the trailhead, and there are camping grounds near the top. Wildlife such as lutung (leaf monkeys) can still be seen in the area. According to a 2024 report, entry is about Rp15,000 plus small summit and camping fees of roughly Rp5,000 each.
