Description

Golo Tanggar is a hill in West Manggarai Regency, Flores Island, East Nusa Tenggara province, Indonesia, with its summit near 8.58°S, 119.87°E close to Sok Rutung village. Its elevation is estimated at about 132 m above sea level from the Open-Meteo digital-terrain model; the NGA GEOnet Names Server classifies it as a hill (feature code 'HLL') without an official elevation figure, and OpenStreetMap records it as a natural peak (source NGA-GNS). The name element 'golo' means 'hill/mountain' in the Manggarai language, an Austronesian language of the Bima–Sumba branch spoken across West Manggarai, Manggarai and East Manggarai regencies; the element is very common in Manggarai toponyms such as Golo Mori and Golo Depet.
