Description
Golo Rowan is a forested hill of about 808 metres above sea level in the southern part of Flores Island, in Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. The word "golo" itself means hill or mountain in the Manggarai language, which is why many peaks in this region share similar names. It rises roughly 277 metres above the surrounding terrain, has a base about 3.4 km across, and sits some 13 km south of the higher summit of Golo Kelap (2,009 m). According to open geographic databases (GeoNames), the surrounding area is largely forested and sparsely populated. The climate is the savanna type typical of southern Flores: an average temperature of about 22 °C and annual rainfall near 1,867 mm concentrated in the wet season (wettest in December), with a very dry season (September nearly rainless). Dedicated documentation of this hill is very limited — its existence, name and coordinates are recorded in OpenStreetMap and Wikidata, but there are no verifiable records of hiking routes, history or tourism. This summary is therefore basic and geographic in nature, and will be updated if a reliable local source emerges.
