Description
Glé Toneng ("glé" means hill/mountain in Acehnese) is a hill about 376 m above sea level in Aceh Province, at the north-western tip of Sumatra, not far from the provincial capital Banda Aceh, which lies about 13.9 km to the north. The surrounding terrain is varied; the sea is the nearest feature to the south-west, while the nearest higher point reaches 934 m about 3.9 km to the east. Unlike many remote hills in the region, its surroundings are fairly populated (around 155 people/km²) and almost entirely forested. The climate is tropical, with a mean temperature about 21 °C and annual rainfall around 2,686 mm, wettest in December. Data for this feature is very limited and drawn from topographic databases (GeoNames/SRTM) and Wikidata—no climbing route is recorded, and the information here is deliberately confined to verified facts.
