Jalur A (Stórhóll) menuju Geldingadalir

The main marked Path A to the 2021/2022 eruption site at Geldingadalir, about 7 km one way with roughly 300 m of ascent. Terrain is lava field, loose gravel, and steep hills with no services along the route. Managers urge hikers to bring water, food, and windproof clothing.

Jalur C (Langihryggur)

Menengah–berat; tanjakan curam menuju punggungan

Path C climbs to the Langihryggur ridge on the east side of the crater, about 4 km one way (~8 km round trip) with a steep ascent. From the ridge, hikers can see the 2021, 2022, and 2023 eruption areas. The official trail map is published by Ferðafélag Íslands (Iceland Touring Association).

Fagradalsfjall on Iceland's Reykjanes peninsula became one of the world's most accessible eruption sites after the 2021–2023 eruptions at Geldingadalir and Meradalir. Hundreds of thousands of people have hiked there via marked trails (mainly Path A and Path C) across lava fields, loose gravel, and steep hills with no services.
