Description
El Cerro del Aripo, at about 940 metres, is the highest point in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. It forms part of the Aripo Massif in the Cordillera del Norte (Northern Range) — a chain of metamorphic/sedimentary (non-volcanic) mountains running along the north of the island of Trinidad, northeast of the town of Arima. Ascents usually start from the Heights of Aripo and push through dense, humid tropical rainforest; the trail climbs steadily, is often muddy, and branches, so hikers commonly go with a local guide. The wider Aripo area is famous for the Aripo Caves and the Asa Wright Nature Centre on its slopes, making it one of Trinidad's most important biodiversity zones. Though modest in height compared with other peaks of the Americas, its status as the country's rooftop makes Aripo a popular objective for Trinidad's hiking community.

Routes
Jalur puncak via Heights of Aripo (sisi utara)
Menengah — trek hutan hujan berlumpur dengan tanjakan berkelanjutan; disarankan berpemanduThe main summit route starts from the Heights of Aripo north of Arima, pushing through the dense, humid tropical rainforest of the Northern Range. The terrain climbs steadily and is often muddy with confusing branches, so hikers usually go with a local guide to reach Trinidad's highest point (940 m).

Menengah — navigasi hutan lebat, licin saat musim hujanAn alternative access starts near the village of Aripo with a local guide, following the ridges of the Aripo Massif. With few markers and thick vegetation, a local guide is key for safety and orientation to the summit.
SourceRute via La Laja Trace (Jalan Arima–Blanchisseuse, km 6)
Berat — non-teknis tetapi butuh penelusuran jalur di hutan lebatThe most-documented route described as the easiest way to the top: from Arima, drive up the Arima–Blanchisseuse Road to the 6-mile marker, then turn onto La Laja South Trace. From there the climb threads the Northern Range rainforest for about three hours to Trinidad's highest point (940 m). Though non-technical, the trail fades near the summit, so forest navigation skills or a guide are needed; start early, wear grippy footwear, and carry enough water.
