Description
Cöt Basala ("cöt" means hill in Acehnese) is a hill about 324 m above sea level in Aceh Province, at the north-western tip of Sumatra. Its summit rises only about 5 m above the surrounding terrain, with a base roughly 0.26 km wide, making it more of a hilly rise than a prominent mountain. The land around it is generally hilly, flattening to the north-west, and is almost entirely forested. The nearest higher point is Gunung Bateehitam (1,144 m), about 7.4 km to the south. The area is sparsely populated (around 30 people/km²) with a tropical climate: mean temperature about 22 °C and annual rainfall around 2,612 mm, wettest in November. Data for this feature is very limited and drawn from topographic databases (GeoNames/SRTM) and Wikidata—no climbing route is recorded, and the information here is deliberately confined to verified facts.
