Description
Corazón (4,790 m) is an inactive, eroded stratovolcano on the western slopes of the Ecuadorian Andes, about 30 km southwest of Quito. Its name means "heart" in Spanish. With a moderate height and terrain that is mostly a long páramo hike finished by an easy scramble to the crater rim, it is one of the favourite acclimatization objectives before higher peaks such as the Illinizas and Cotopaxi. The climb can usually be done in a day from access points at the western foot, and the summit gives a wide panorama of Ecuador's line of volcanoes on clear days.

Routes
Ruta normal dari El Chaupi (sisi barat)
Menengah — hiking páramo panjang dengan scramble ringan ke bibir kawahThe most common route to the summit of Corazón (4,790 m) starts on the western side, usually from the village of El Chaupi or a hacienda at the foot of the mountain. The trail crosses long, windy páramo and then steepens into an easy rock scramble to the crater rim. With its moderate height and no need for glacier gear, Corazón is popular as an acclimatization climb before higher peaks such as the Illinizas and Cotopaxi. Thick fog can make the route confusing, so many climbers use a guide, especially on the summit scramble. Local operators put the ascent at roughly 3–4 hours.
