Description
Chachani (6,057 m) is a large volcanic complex standing about 22 km northwest of Arequipa in southern Peru, part of the Andean Central Volcanic Zone. Rather than a single cone it comprises several lava domes and individual volcanoes such as Nocarane, with a buried caldera beneath it. Its reputation as one of the world's 'easiest' 6,000 m peaks draws many climbers: the normal route is essentially glacier-free and demands no technical ice skills, so it can be walked up over sand and scree. But 'easy' is relative—topping 6,000 m still demands serious acclimatization, and many climbers first adjust in Arequipa or summit El Misti beforehand. Arequipa is the staging city, from which 4x4 vehicles carry climbers to a high base camp around 5,000–5,200 m to shorten the pre-dawn summit push.

Routes
Full-Day Climb (1 hari)
Sedang / non-teknisA fast one-day option using high road access at ~5,000 m, skipping an overnight at base camp so the 6,000 m summit is reached and descended in a single day. It suits only well-acclimatized climbers, as it gains extreme altitude quickly without an adaptation night.
SourceJalur Lereng Utara/Barat Laut (Andes normal route)
F (mudah — salah satu 6000er termudah)The route documented by Andes: 4x4 to a col at ~5,050 m north of the summit, then a nearly flat ~1.5-hour walk to a higher camp at ~5,800 m. From there a zig-zag path leads up, with thin snow above 5,900 m, making it one of the world's easiest 6,000 m summits — though acclimatization is still essential.
SourceJalur Normal 2 Hari (via El Collado)
Sedang / non-teknis (PD-)Classic route from Arequipa: a ~3-hour 4x4 drive through the Salinas y Aguada Blanca National Reserve to 'El Collado' at ~5,100 m, then a ~2-hour trek to base camp around 5,163 m. The summit push starts at 02:00–04:00, a 4–6 hour climb over scree and cold wind to the 6,057 m top.
SourceClimbing Experiences
Nevado Chachani (6,057 m) is a volcanic massif rising about 22 km northwest of Arequipa, Peru, widely regarded as one of the most accessible 6,000 m peaks on Earth. A 4x4 drive reaches a high base camp around 5,000 m, leaving a pre-dawn summit push over scree and cold wind to reach the top. Despite its reputation as the 'easiest 6000er', the extreme altitude keeps it serious, so proper acclimatization — often via El Misti or time spent in Arequipa — is essential.
