Description

Buyu Lawara is a forested hill in the interior of Poso Regency, Central Sulawesi Province, Indonesia. In Sulawesi languages the word 'buyu' means mountain or hill — a prefix that commonly marks summits across the region. Its summit lies at roughly 1.988°S, 120.508°E. According to the NGA GEOnet Names (GNS) database, also summarised on Cebuano Wikipedia, its elevation is estimated at about 1,607 metres above sea level — around 41 metres above the surrounding terrain, with a base roughly 0.75 km wide (a digital elevation model figure, not a field survey). The nearest higher peak is Buyu Fenema (about 1,810 m), some 3.2 km to the northwest. The surroundings are almost entirely forested, thinly populated (about 34 people per km²), with an average temperature near 18 °C. Its name and position are recorded in GNS and mapped on OpenStreetMap as a natural 'peak', but there is no documented climbing trail, permit information, or trip report. Cacumen lists it as a geographic record rather than a recommended hiking route.
