Description

Buttu Pussak is a summit in South Sulawesi Province, Indonesia, at roughly 3°01′18″S 119°33′39″E. The Cebuano Wikipedia geographic-names database — sourced from the U.S. NGA-GNS gazetteer — records an elevation of about 914 m, rising only some 32 m above the surrounding terrain with a base about 0.18 km wide; a check against the open Open-Meteo digital elevation model at the same point returns about 912 m, so its height is consistent at around 910 m. The same source notes that the highest point nearby is Buttu Puang (about 1,278 m), roughly 1.9 km to the west, with mountainous terrain to the south and hills to the north. The area is densely forested with a low population density (about 30 people/km²) and a tropical climate; the average temperature is about 20 °C and annual rainfall about 2,543 mm, wettest in April. The point is recorded in OpenStreetMap as natural=peak, sourced from NGA-GNS, and has entries in Wikidata (Q25288257) and GeoNames (7039424). The name "Buttu" means "mountain" in the local language, a naming pattern common across the mountains of western and southern Sulawesi. Note: beyond its position, elevation, and classification as a mountain, Buttu Pussak has virtually no verified climbing, trail, or tourism documentation; this profile is deliberately limited to referenceable geographic facts and adds no unsourced claims.
