Description
Burni Kemulo is a forested peak in the Gayo highlands of Aceh Province, Sumatra — 'burni' means mountain in the Gayo language, as with other peaks in the area such as Burni Telong and Burni Geureudong. Geographic databases give its elevation as about 1,906 metres above sea level, rising roughly 58 metres above the surrounding terrain with a base about 0.94 km wide. The nearest higher peak is Burni Paya Anyar (2,007 m), only about 1.3 km to the south, indicating Burni Kemulo forms part of the Gayo high-hill cluster. Its surroundings are almost entirely forested, with a cool mountain climate (mean temperature around 13 °C), high annual rainfall (~3,014 mm) and very sparse population. The mountain is almost undocumented: there is no official climbing route or established ascent report, so details on trails and summit conditions remain very limited.
