Description
Burni Gajah (805 m a.s.l.) is a peak in Aceh Province, Sumatra, at approximately 4°17'N, 97°31'E — in the interior highlands of Aceh between Pidie and Bireuen. The name combines burni (mountain in the Gayo/Acehnese language) with gajah (elephant), literally meaning 'Elephant Mountain'. The summit is not an active volcano and forms part of the Bukit Barisan mountain chain running along Sumatra's western spine. Public documentation for Burni Gajah is very limited: no Wikipedia article, verified climbing reports, or official records could be found online. Available data derive solely from international peak catalogues based on geographic coordinates (Wikidata). The surrounding Aceh highlands are better represented by Gunung Geureudong (2,885 m, volcanic) and Gunung Burni Telong (2,624 m, active volcano in Bener Meriah).
