Description
Bur Ngkloang is a mountain in Aceh Province, Indonesia — the word "bur" means "mountain" in the Gayo language. It lies in the Gayo highlands, part of the Barisan Mountains at the northern tip of Sumatra. Its elevation is recorded at roughly 1,172–1,199 m above sea level in the GeoNames database (figures vary slightly between sources), with a topographic prominence of only about 27 m above the surrounding terrain, making it more of a ridge bump than a standalone peak; the nearest higher summit reaches about 2,226 m some 4 km to the south. The surroundings are hilly to the northeast and mountainous to the southwest, still largely covered by dense tropical forest and sparsely populated. Detailed trail, permit, and safety information is not available from open sources; this profile is compiled from Wikidata, GeoNames, and several Wikipedia editions, so the information remains limited and preliminary.
