Description
Bur Lintang is a non-volcanic peak in Aceh Province, Indonesia. The word "Bur" comes from the Gayo language — spoken by the Gayo people of the Central Aceh highlands and surrounding areas — meaning mountain or hill. Based on verifiable local sources, Bur Lintang lies in Linge Subdistrict, Central Aceh Regency (Kabupaten Aceh Tengah), along the national road connecting Takengon, Isaq, and Gayo Lues. The area at the foot of the mountain is known to be landslide-prone; several landslide events in the Bur Lintang area have disrupted access along this road and were handled by the Central Aceh Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD Aceh Tengah). Wikidata records at least two separate entities named "Bur Lintang" in Aceh (Q25179010 and Q25176652), which may represent two distinct peaks with similar names or a duplicate entry. Bur Lintang is not a volcano and is not listed among Aceh's active or dormant volcanoes. Publicly verified climbing information is very limited.
