Description

Bulu Pangate is a named mountain/hill in Barru Regency, South Sulawesi Province, Indonesia, at roughly 4.13°S 119.75°E — in the central part of the country, about 1,400 km east of Jakarta. In the Bugis-Makassar language, the word 'bulu' means mountain, so the name means roughly 'Mount Pangate'. According to GeoNames toponymy data summarised on Cebuano Wikipedia, its summit stands at about 737 metres above sea level; the surrounding landscape is generally hilly, the nearest higher point being an 860 m rise about 1.7 km to the south-west, and the area around it is sparsely populated (~28 people/km²). It is recorded as a mountain in Wikidata (Q25289010) with descriptions in 16 languages and an auto-generated stub on Cebuano Wikipedia, and is listed in OpenStreetMap from NGA-GNS/GeoNames data. Beyond these basic geographic facts there is no official climbing route or verifiable trip report; this summary is limited to confirmed facts and honestly states the data gap.
