Description
Bukit Rata is a low hill on the coastal plain of Aceh province, in northern Sumatra, about 4.9 km south of the city of Lhokseumawe. Its summit reaches only around 39 m above sea level (GeoNames data; Open-Meteo terrain sample ~36 m), with flat surrounding terrain and the sea close by to the north-east. The area around it is fairly densely populated and largely covered by evergreen forest, with an average temperature near 23 °C and high annual rainfall (wettest in December). Bukit Rata is not a popular climbing objective — it is recorded mainly as a named topographic point in geographic databases; no trail data or climbing accounts are available, so this profile is limited to verified location and environmental facts.
