Description
Bukit Gedekepuh is a hill in Ponjong District, Gunungkidul Regency, in Indonesia's Special Region of Yogyakarta, recorded in the NGA-GNS place-name gazetteer and mapped on OpenStreetMap. It sits at the edge of the Gunung Sewu karst range — a tropical limestone landscape of roughly 40,000 conical hills recognised as a UNESCO Global Geopark. The Ponjong area itself is a karst polje (basin) and one of Gunung Sewu's five hydrogeological sub-systems, marked by springs and caves such as Gua Cokro. Dedicated documentation of Bukit Gedekepuh is very limited: its summit elevation is unrecorded and no formal climbing route is documented, so this profile honestly presents the surrounding regional context rather than unverified specifics.
