Description

Bukit Daun is a 2,467 m stratovolcano in Bengkulu in the Barisan Mountains. Its popular hiking destinations are Danau Telapak Kaki and the wooded eastern crater rim. This peak is distinct from the higher Gunung Hulu Palik to the west; visiting the lake does not constitute an ascent of Hulu Palik. Documented access crosses tea plantations above Baru Manis or Sentral Baru, while the local government also lists basecamp services at Air Bening. Older accounts describe demanding terrain and navigation, so access conditions should be checked with local managers.

From the tea plantations, the route enters the forest at Pintu Rimba and passes Shelter 1 and Shelter 2 before reaching the crater rim. The right branch leads toward the viewpoint and lake, while the southern branch reaches the eastern peak. This route does not reach Hulu Palik. Timing comes from the June 2021 account and does not establish current conditions.
